How to add a website to Google Search Console ?

Have a new website and you would like google to add your pages into its search so anyone can search in google and reach to your website, the first step is to make sure you have added your website to google search console / google webmaster which providers certain other tools like your pages index status etc.

For this you will need to have a gmail account, if you would not like to use your personal account for your website, you can create a new gmail acccount and login to https://search.google.com/search-console/ once successfully logged in, you will be redirected to webmaster tools dashboard where you will see an option “Add a Property” where you will see a window like below, paste your website link and click “Add”

After you add website, you will be asked to “Verify your ownership” of new URL, for this you will need to have FTP access to your hosting account, download the file as mentioned in “Alternate Method” -> “HTML File upload” method and upload to home folder of your site using ftp and verify the ownership by clicking “Verify” button.

Once you have successfully verified ownership and webmaster has new website, you are almost set.

The last option left is now, you have to add sitemap.xml of the website to webmaster, for that, select your website from google webmaster dashboard, and click “Crawl” -> “Sitemap” and in this click “Add/Test your sitemap” and add your sitemap.xml URL like https://lynxbee.com/sitemap.xml and click “Submit”.

Thats It.. and you are all set to see your Secure website getting ranked in google.
